Aofie O'Donovan/The Lone Bellow
This double bill pairs two very different and talented Brooklyn-based ensembles that blend folk, rock and country, with roots ranging from the South to the other side of the Atlantic. Aoife O'Donovan returns to Savannah as a leader, following her SMF performance with Crooked Still in 2011. She has collaborated with artists as wide ranging as Alison Krauss and Dave Douglas, and is fresh off a year-long recording/touring project with Chris Thile, Edgar Meyer, Yo-Yo Ma and Stuart Duncan. A widely celebrated group that came together at a Park Slope diner over the songs of front man Zach Williams, The Lone Bellow have made a huge impression with their beautiful harmonies, emotional force and a presence that sounds remarkably experiences. This is the first of two nights featuring Aoife O'Donovan and The Lone Bellow at Ships of the Sea North Garden.
