The Harmoneers are a Conley, Georgia-based jubilee gospel group that includes brothers Willie, Calvin, Melvin and Andrew Turner. Their SMF debut occurred in 2009, when they performed at a Noon30 concert and on the SMF-commissioned piece “Welcome to Georgia Town”—an autobiographical musical work composed by Wycliffe Gordon. Carrying forth the tradition of jubilee gospel greats the Fairfield Four and the Golden Gate Quartet, the Harmoneers perform traditional a cappella gospel songs and African American spirituals.
