Editing Music for Feature Films: In Conversation with Steven Saltzman
Respected Hollywood music editor, Steven Saltzman has recently published Music Editing For Film and Television, The Art and The Process with Routledge / Focal Press - Taylor & Francis Group. Saltzman earned a Bachelors of Music in composition and film scoring from Berklee College of Music in Boston and studied composition with Boston Conservatory composer John Hess and in Los Angeles with Dr. Albert Harris.

Steven has been music editing for over twenty years and in addition to current projects his work includes: Ballerina, The Revenant, Queen Of The Desert, Brick Mansions, Priest, Straw Dogs (remake), Bewitched, A Guy Thing,  and Heartbreakers, to name a few. He has worked with many composers, including Klaus Badelt, Mark Mothersbaugh, Nathan Furst, Robert Revell, Dave Robbins, J.A.C. Redford, and Larry Groupé. He has also received a Golden Reel Award and four nominations for his music editing. Saltzman is a certified Avid Pro Tools instructor.  As well as creating a music-editing course he has taught and lectured over the past twelve years at various institutions. He serves on the Board of Directors for Motion Picture Sound Editors (MPSE), and the Advisory Boards of Los Angeles City College. He is a member of the Motion Picture Editors Guild, the Society of Composers and Lyricists, and MPSE.
