Still lauded as a film that helped define the fashion of the 1990s, Amy Heckerling's CLUELESS A funny and clever reshaping of Jane Austin's Emma, when rich, shallow, and socially successful high school student Cher Horowitz (Alicia Silverstone) tries to boost a new pupil Tai's (Brittany Murphy) popularity by giving her a makeover. When Tai becomes more popular than she is, Cher realizes that her disapproving ex-stepbrother (Paul Rudd) was right about how misguided she was -- and falls for him.
