La Dolce Vita (1960)

La Dolce Vita (1960)
This winter, Cinema Circle brings to you the film series "Trendsetters." Enjoy three films that are iconic in either exemplifying the fashion of their time period, or even set new fashion trends as a result of the success of the film.

In this Federico Fellini film, Marcello Mastrioanni stars as Marcello Rubini (Fellini''s alter ego), a journalist writing for gossip magazines. Having left his dreary provincial existence behind, Marcello, over seven days and nights, wanders through the "sweet life" of Rome -  ultra-modern, ultra-sophisticated, ultra-decadent - in a fruitless search for love and happiness. Throughout his adventures, Mastrioanni''s dreams, fantasies, nightmares, and fears are mirrored by the hedonism all around him. LA DOLCE VITA won the Palm d''Or at the 1960 Cannes Film Festival and the Oscar for Best Costume, further solidifying Fellini as the greatest Italian filmmaker of all time.

A moderated Q+A with a SCAD Professor will follow the screening.
