Bookended by great Mozart works, this concert features the Piano Quintet by Hummel (who was taught and housed by Mozart for two years free of charge and made his first concert appearance at the age of 9 at one of Mozart's concerts) and the first string sonata by Rossini, who was often called “the Italian Mozart.”
