Jan Lisiecki, piano

Jan Lisiecki, piano
The young Polish-Canadian pianist Jan Lisiecki started playing at age 5, making his orchestral debut at the age of 9 while always rebuffing the label “child prodigy.” His approach to music is a refreshing combination of dedication, skill and enthusiasm. Confirming his status among the most imaginative and poetic pianists of his generation, Deutsche Grammophon signed him in 2011 at just 15 years old. Since substituting for Martha Argerich to perform Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4 under Claudio Abbado, he has made his debut as concerto soloist with numerous orchestras including the Philadelphia Orchestra at Carnegie Hall. Classic FM Magazine recently wrote: “He may be young but Jan Lisiecki plays Schumann like a legend.”
