Currently serving as Catherine Russell’s music director, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Matt Munisteri is an extraordinary jazz guitarist who also started playing bluegrass banjo at an early age. A native of Brooklyn, he has credits on more than 70 recordings across the jazz and American roots music spectrum, having performed or recorded with artists as varied as Mark O’Connor’s Hot Swing Trio, Loudon Wainwright, Madeleine Peyroux, Henry Butler, Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, Bernie Worrell and Vernon Reid. In this special solo concert, Munisteri plays a mix of jazz standards and originals.
