Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit

Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit
Jason Isbell has won four Grammy Awards over the past five years and is widely acclaimed as one of the best songwriters in our time. This long-awaited Savannah return of Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit follows up their appearance at SMF’s Festival Finale at Trustees’ Garden in 2018. Isbell’s recent album Reunions is a seamless collection of ten songs that delve into relationships with lovers, friends, children, parents, and one’s self. There are rousing anthems that have stadiums singing along and lyrical standouts that offer moving looks at youth and childhood and the challenges of relationships, as well as deeply personal songs about alcoholism and parenthood. All of them offer us an artist at the height of his powers and a band fully charged with creativity and confidence. Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit will also feature some of their favorite songs by Georgia artists at this concert, taken from their recently released album Georgia Blue.

Brittney Spencer is a singer-songwriter with a free spirit and a love for molding life, truth and wild imagination into songs. Her love for storytelling drove the Baltimore native to Nashville in 2013 with dreams of singing and writing country music. While establishing herself as a songwriter in Music City, she toured and performed as a background singer for Carrie Underwood and Christopher Cross, and in late 2020 Spencer released her debut EP, Compassion. The record garnered rave reviews from fellow musicians Maren Morris and Amanda Shires, as well as Billboard and American Songwriter.
