Winter on Fire
Chronicling events that unfolded over 93 days in 2013 and 2014, this documentary witnesses the formation of a new civil rights movement in Ukraine. What started as peaceful student demonstrations supporting European integration morphed into a full-fledged violent revolution calling for the resignation of the nation's president. The film captures the remarkable mobilization of nearly a million citizens from across the country protesting the corrupt political regime that utilized extreme force against its own people to suppress their demands and freedom of expression.

About the director:
As a teenager, Evgeny Afineevsky won First Prize for Best Documentary of the largest Republic in Russia and was sent to the International Festival on the Black Sea in Russia. This was the beginning of his filmmaking career.

He is one of the youngest and successful impresarios in Israel and abroad. He has worked and has been sponsored by many of the top line impresarios of Israel and in the USA. His personal teachers and partners have been: Jack Yakov (oldest and well known impresario in Israel, with the richest background of more than 40 years of shows, musicals and operettas, "Father" of children musical theatre in Israel, "Maestro operetta" in this country and so on), and Menachem Golan, a well known director and producer in Hollywood, Israel and all over the world. During the last 6 years, he has coordinated over 30 musicals in Israel, such as: "Bat" (Die Fledermaus), "Gypsy Baron", "Viennese Blood", "Night in Venice", "Silva princess of Chardas", "Mozart Konzerte" with Prague National Opera orchestra, International Festivals, children musicals and many others.

During 1997 and through the beginning of 1999, he produced and directed the great British show, "The Mousetrap", by Agatha Christie, which has run for over 50 years in London and various other countries. Also in 1999, with great success, he produced and directed a play by Agatha Christie entitled "Spider Web". During his production of "Spider Web", Afineevsky took on a television production named "Days of Love" with various famous Israeli stars with great popularity in Israel as well as abroad.

As President and CEO of "Octava Ltd." for the 3 years, Afineevsky has rapidly achieved and been able to demonstrate his well-earned experience through his new concepts and usage of the most current technological methods of the industry. As well as his extensive background in business, financial and investment management.

Over one year he has been President of "FilmWorld International Inc", an Entertainment Production Company and after 2 years of "New Cannon Inc", where he continued to demonstrate his knowledge of and experience in the Entertainment Industry.

As producer of 'The Return from India' (2002), Afineevsky received the Israeli Grand from the Israeli Film Fund and was nominated for the Israeli Oscar. In 2005 he received The Gold Special Jury Award from the 38th Annual Houston Worldfest for "The Return from India". In 2007 he received the Platinum Remi Award from the 40th Annual Houston Worldfest for his film 'Crime & Punishment' (2002) and in 2008 he received the Platinum Remi Award from the 41st Annual Houston Worldfest for his film 'Death Game' (2002). He also received the Gold Remi Award for Best Original Comedy Screenplay for "Oy Vey! My Son Is Gay!" (2008) and he won the Best Original Screenplay / Script of the Year award from the Monaco Charity Film Festival for "Oy Vey! My Son Is Gay!" which he produced and directed in 2008-2009. "OY VEY! MY SON IS GAY!" is his feature directorial debut for what he already collected over 23 awards in USA and abroad. His latest educational documentary project "Divorce: Journey through the kids' eyes" already been picked up by distributors and been receiving awards and recognition from the USA festival circuit.

He is the member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Directors Guild of America, Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television, Israeli Film and Television Academy, Los Angeles Film Teachers Association and a Russian Union of Cinematography.
