Dr. Reinhard Nagl, a neurotic cynic, who suffers from obsessive compulsive behaviors, lives at a remote castle with his two servants. His life undergoes a dramatic restructuring when his excitable friend Lorenz Zweig surprises him on his 70th birthday weekend with the intention of turning his life upside down. The delicate situation escalates as they encounter Reinhard's first love Magdalena.
Preceded by the narrative short “The Rose Bowl.”
When two expectant sisters-in law discover they are each going to name their babies Rose, they embark in a race to induce labor using whatever means necessary after agreeing that the moniker belongs to whoever delivers first.
